Here we present the stories of some of the beneficiaries of our Mission of Love Foundation, who consent to publication.
We maintain the privacy of many people from whom we are unable to obtain permission to make their image and story public. These are minors whose personal stories are very painful and we have no contact with their guardians, and these children, by court decision, are staying in care and education facilities.
Children from Upendo
Beneficiares of Upendo Childrens Home
The beneficiaries of the Mission of Love Foundation are all the children of the Upendo Children's Home in Kenya (CDM Upendo Children's Home). In this facility there are 40 girls, aged 4 to 18. From the funds transferred to this facility, thanks to the projects implemented by the Foundation, the girls are provided with basic needs, i.e. food, psychological care, recreation, clothing, etc. And above all, education at every level, which gives hope for a better future for these children. Some of them are already in secondary boarding schools, which come with higher fees because aside to school equipment, there are additional fees for tuition, meals and travel.
Thanks to the Foundation's support, children in the Children's Home in Upendo have relatively good living conditions, as well as access to drinking water, computers and the Internet. They are happy, although they really miss their loved ones, which is why our goal is to as soon as possible safely guide each of them home (own family or foster family) and to support them outside of the facility.
This is a difficult process that also requires professionalism and financial resources, so please remember about Upendo. Due to their right to privacy, we do not publish the beneficiaries’ data.
WE HELP BECAUSE WE LOVE.
Nancy i Dickson
siblings
Nancy and Dickson are siblings who found themselves in a very difficult situation a year ago when they were abandoned by their mother and dropped to a relative, but they themselves have huge personal difficulties - both health and material.
Nevertheless, she decided to adopt the children. She did not want them to be raised on the street.
With time, the situation became more and more difficult for her. Problems with feeding the children, paying school fees, caring for her sick mother...
So when someone told her about UPENDO, the only solution that came to her mind was to place her in the hands of the Upendo CHILDREN’S HOME.
But is this the best idea and the only solution?
We have offered Susana to continue to look after the children. We don't want to separate them again from the people they love and trust. We don't want them to grow up in an orphanage. As a Foundation, we offered regular support by buying food for them every month.
Therefore, long-term support is needed in the form of monthly food purchases:
5 kg of cornmeal
6 kg of rice
2 kg of sugar
2 kg of wheat flour
2 kg of oatmeal
3 litres of oil
Milk
Beans
Cost 4000-5000 Kes / around 40-50 euros.
In addition, school fees, uniforms, school supplies...
PLEASE, let's help Susana and the children she took in.
Jane
child
Jane is our beloved beneficiary with big beautiful eyes that you can fall in love with. But these are quite sad eyes of a child who has come to live in such difficult conditions in Africa, without any hope for a better future.
As the Foundation we want to change this and provide her, above all, with education, thanks to which her life can be completely changed. We saw with our own eyes in what conditions she lives with her parents. The father is unable to work after an accident, so the mother works in a quarry, earning 1 euro a day. This is barely enough for 1 meal a day.
Jane is 5 years old and should start school. We really want to help her and give her a chance for a better future, so we are looking for good hearts that will support her education every month with a small donation.
WE HELP BECAUSE WE LOVE.
BE JANE'S FRIEND.
Florence
student
Florence is currently in fifth class of primary school and is a particularly gifted student, despite having her right arm amputated in early childhood. Despite the lack of notebooks, school supplies and a dramatic situation at home, she amazes everyone with her academic results, always placing in the top three of the best students. The girl has four siblings. The children are raised by a single mother after the death of their father. The family lives in very poor conditions and they lack the means to meet even basic human needs.
We can change that by providing Florence with regular school meals, school supplies and notebooks, and a modest study area with a small light, as well as a better place to sleep.
It may not seem like much, but in fact it is a real change that will give her hope for a better future and a greater sense of security.
We help because we LOVE !
YOU TOO CAN HELP FLORENCE AND CHANGE HER LIFE!
John
student
We have known John for a few years now. From the beginning we were captivated by his simplicity, serenity, diligence, nobility and kindness.
John took the state exam twice at the end of the 4th year of high school to be able to get into university. Hard work and many sacrifices led him to his desired goal. He is currently studying electronics - he will soon start his third year.
It is hard to imagine this type of course not only without a telephone or computer, but also without electricity, as there is no electricity in John's family home.
This is probably one of the reasons why John gratefully accepts and experiences every day, and during the holidays he helps at the UPENDO Children's Home. He works physically in the garden, helps the girls with their schoolwork and is wholeheartedly involved in everything that is entrusted to him.
During his studies, he earns money carrying water to wealthier students (20 shillings = 20 cents for 20 litres of water), frying and selling mandazi (an African sweet delicacy) to survive.
This year he received a laptop from one of our Friends. In UPENDO, he can use it, has access to the Internet is learning how to use a computer in his spare time.
LET'S HELP JOHN - let's contribute to his studies, to the cost of living, so that he has enough time to study, but also so that he does not experience hunger and the lack of basic needs.
Mark
student
Mark is a first year student at secondary school. A boy with potential, but unable to use it due to poverty and a complicated family situation. The boy is not motivated to study because of the lack of books, unpaid tuition fees, irregular meals, difficult living conditions, lack of his own place to sleep and study are a very heavy burden for him. Apart from him, his mother raises two more siblings alone, and unfortunately his older sisters can't help him with anything.
The mother is also very unstable emotionally. It is often difficult for her to get even a part-time job to earn about 2 euros a day, which is not even enough to feed her family. It is very important to her that the children finish school, because she has not gained any profession herself, which is why she turned to our Foundation for help.
Let's change Marek's fate by providing him, above all, with education, so that he can get a specific profession. Let's support him so that he regains hope and looks into the future with it.
Let's bring love and hope together.
Join us today and change Mark's life.
Family
sibllings
These six siblings urgently need our support.
The father of the family, who has suffered from brain cancer and cannot function as before, through his primary family, comes for help. His health is getting worse each month.
The mother has no education and sometimes only finds work occasionally, to save for food.
The family lives in extreme poverty, there is no help from anywhere. They have been eating a meal once every two days for some time now...
The children cannot continue their studies at school because they are in cannot pay their fees. One daughter is supposed to go to secondary school now but this is not possible because they do not have enough money for school uniforms, books and compulsory school lunches.
At the beginning, we included them in our Feeding Program as the Mission of Love Foundation.
However, with Your help, we would like to help these six children by including them also in our Education Program, so that they can continue their education.
WE WANT TO SUPPORT THESE CHILDREN IN THE LONG -TERM AND WE ARE LOOKING FOR GOOD HEARTS TO HELP US !
Happines Simon Ian
siblings
Happines, Simon and Ian are siblings raised by their grandmother since their mother's death. The mother died after giving birth to her youngest son.
Their grandma is a very sick person. She earns daily bread by hired work, but in difficult moments she breaks down and falls into depression.
She fights despite everything to raise her grandchildren so that they do not end up in an orphanage.
Happines has just graduated from the eighth grade and despite her poor grades, hopes to go on to high school.
Simon will soon be in seventh grade and Ian in fifth grade.
This family needs support in the form of food and school fees, school lunches, uniforms, shoes, books, school supplies...
We believe that there will be people ready to help these three siblings build their future with hope.
SUPPORT THESE ORPHANS and stay with us to do good by implementing the commandment of love.
Lionelle
student
Lionelle is 13 years old and wants to become a doctor. She is a very good and diligent student. Before we met her, she went out every day before sunrise to walk an hour to school.. Her dream was to have a bicycle on which she could commute to school in 20 minutes and never be late. Together we made her dream come true.
We also want to ensure her education on a permanent basis, paying for school lunches, the purchase of a uniform, shoes and necessary educational materials because her parents cannot afford it. The family lives in an agricultural area, picturesquely situated among rice fields, but does not own any land. Her parents earn their daily bread by work on other people's fields. However, this is a very uncertain and insufficient source of income.
BECOME LIONELLLE'S FRIEND AND SUPPORT HER EDUCATION
Helen
student
Helen is 19 years old. Most of that time - as an orphan - she lived in care and education facilities, including UPENDO.
Helen's two older sisters have already started their independent lives. Her younger brother is a child of the orphanage, and Hellen is still under our care.
Helen is not one of those people who go through the world confidently. In many situations, she needs support and trust from and to people who accompany her. It is difficult for her to make independent decisions.
The girl graduated from high school last year. However, the results of her exams were not sensational. Thanks to the psychological support she received, she was able to choose her further education.
In September 2022, Hellen started studying at college, majoring in Fashion and design.
Helen really likes to design and even drawing is great fun for her. Plus, Helen is a really good dancer.
Please help Helen. Support her education and passion.
BECOME HER FRIEND.
Chalin
student
Chalin is 10 years old and she is in fourth class. She is a wonderful and very sensitive girl with a big heart, as we saw with our own eyes how she cares for her sick brother even though she is still a child. She is being brought up by a single mother, whose husband left after giving birth to a child with cerebral palsy. Chalin is amazingly able to take care of her disabled brother, Fidel, with great heroism. She knows how to feed him, make him laugh and comfort him when needed.
We want to find friends for Chalin who will support her not only financially, so that she can continue school without doubt, eat lunch at school and have all the necessary educational materials, uniform or shoes. We want her to feel that someone also cares for her, because she deserves a lot of good and love, which she so beautifully shares with others.
GIVE CHALIN A LITTLE LOVE AND GOODNESS
Peter Bridget Jomo
family
Mary has three children and is a single mother. She makes a living from some jobs, but she has to devote a lot of time to her youngest sick son. Last year, her two older children - Bridget 5 years old and Jomo 7 years old - did not finish school because his mother could not afford to pay the required fees for lunches, school uniforms and books.
The youngest - 2-year-old boy Peter, has undergone treatment in recent months as he was tested positive for tuberculosis. He also has chronic asthma and needs constant medication and medical visits.
Funds are needed for medical treatment, food, school...
As the Mission of Love Foundation, we buy food and drink for this family every month, we provide education for the children and treatment for Peter. This help must be long-term PLEASE, do not be indifferent to the fate of Peter, his siblings and mother who alone raises this three.
And you will certainly leave a good mark in the hearts of our beneficiaries.
WE HELP BECAUSE WE LOVE
Michael
student
Michael is fascinated by farming, which is not only organic but also feeds the people who farm. Especially the poorest.
He himself comes from a very poor family, additionally torn apart by discord and addictions.
In high school, he was attacked by a classmate who tried to break his head with a hammer. He had to undergo surgery, returned to physical fitness, but graduated from high school with poor results and an extensive scar.
A difficult family situation almost deprived him of hope for a further education.
After meeting Michael, we knew he needed help.
However, we need YOUR support so that Michael can continue his studies in college and become a farmer in the future with not only knowledge and experience, but above all passion and skills.
During the holidays, Michael was very involved in helping out at the St. FRANCIS FARM AT THE UPENDO CHILDREN'S HOME IN KENYA, and the effects of his work delight the eyes and hearts of those who live and visit Upendo.
PLEASE support MICHAEL.
Melisa
student
Here's little Melissa. Our new Beneficiaries, who is just starting school at the age of five. Melisa comes from a large family and is raised by a single mother. The mother works in the field and earns pennies, which is not even enough to feed the children, not to mention school supplies and mandatory school lunch fees. The girl had a more difficult start. She started learning with a broken arm, but she was still full of enthusiasm. We bought the most necessary things, but we still need: a school uniform, shoes and a backpack. Melisa needs regular support every month like other students to continue learning at school. It costs approximately EUR 25/PLN 100 per month. GIVE EDUCATION TO MELISA!
Joseph
student
Joseph is a very talented young man. A few years ago we did not even think that he would mature so much, and that the experience of poverty, illness in the family and loss of his mother would strengthen and not weaken his motivation to fight for a better tomorrow.
Joseph will do anything not to return to the quarry where his parents worked and where the only source of income for the family was. He also knows that in order to break out of the poverty cycle, he must fight for it by systematic and wise work on himself, study and discipline.
There is not a single relative who could help him realize his dream of becoming an engineer, and he still has a long way to go.
PLEASE support Joseph's education. He will soon start his third year of high school. He is one of the best students in the school and we hope he will continue to aim high. What he needs is the tuition fee and the purchase of school supplies and educational materials.
The Mission of Love Foundation is not an illusion, but a Christian love in practice.
A LOVE that can change the lives of Joseph and many others. JOIN US.
Fidel
family
Our new treasure is called Fidel Gachago.
He is 4 years old and has cerebral palsy.
The boy does not sit, does not walk, is unable to eat on his own, does not speak, but responds beautifully with his eyes and a smile.
The mother is 35 years old. Her husband left her when they had a disabled child. Until recently she was renting a room. The drought caused her to lose her income from hired work. Good people took her in with three children. They live in the kitchen and they sleep on the floor.
There are no funds to pay for secondary school - that's why the eldest daughter is out of school for two years now.
She should be in the 2nd year of secondary school. She now lives in another county with her grandmother. The second daughter lives with her mother – attends 4th class in primary school. FIDEL the youngest is fully dependent on his mother, and his mother on the Divine Providence.
The child is not rehabilitated, so we are looking for good hearts to provide him with decent living conditions as well as treatment.
BECOME FIDEL AND THIS FAMILY'S FRIEND AND GIFT THEM A BETTER LIFE.
DEARS, WE HELP BECAUSE WE LOVE!
Emma
student
Emma is our new beneficiary!
She is a very positive and talented girl. The girl had a long break from her studies because her mother, instead of sending her to school, took her with her to work in the fields. Emma was not treated well and about a month ago she simply ran away to her aunt, who wants to take care of the child but cannot afford to pay her school fees. Despite the missed days, Emma really wants to go back to school.
We are sending her to school, but we need constant support. We have already purchased the uniform. We will also buy shoes, a backpack,
